Last new year, 2012 changing in 2013, was a bit less happy, since the Mayans had predicted world's end. I found an infographic on the internet stating that one of the last things people would do before this happened, is traveling. Only spending time with family could top the 'travelinganswer'.
This infographic is very decorative with a nice usage of colours and simple forms and figures. In the first part the creator explains how he has recieved the information, which makes it reliable. The graphic is quite repetitive; giving the number of people choosing traveling as last activity, than zooming in on the answers from travel bloggers. Then the aswer gets more concrete by filling it in with questions such as 'Where would you travel?' 'What would you do there?' ... This graphic is not too dense or difficult, yet provides some interesting facts.

I agree with you. This infographic has nice colors and the information is understandable because it uses common symbols and structures. I don't really agree with you with the fact that is repetitive because from my point of view it helps to understand more the information in different ways.
ReplyDeleteI really like the ancient "mayan" colour theme and the very simple use of the different charts that fulfill their purposes. I think the quote in the middle is a bit out of place, and it seems it is placed there to fill up space.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I think there is a quite clear structure: I - as a reader - is taken by the hand and shown how to read the infographic.
the graphic is nicely designed by the use of different cold and warm colors which makes it easy to follow. also the use of numbers which are highlighted in cold colors to guide me through the graphic makes it easy for me to follow the information. according to the figuration in the center of the infographic the amount of the around it doesn't seem that heavy because the balance between text and graphics makes it fun to read.

Hello Briggite! I agree with the previous comments. Colors and draws have been chosen with a good criterion. Data and information are very well distributed and organized and I think it is very useful and efficient in order to know what people would do in its last year on earth.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the graphic is structured very well and through enumerations and familiar icons easy to follow, too. Christian mentioned the maya theme - i could image to emphasize this reference to the last year on earth a little bit more.
